Der Sender HBO liegt bei den Nominierungen für die 66. Emmy Awards wieder vorne, dank der neuen Hitserie "True Detective", dem Film "The Normal Heart" und dem Dauerbrenner "Game of Thrones", welcher in 19 Kategorien nominiert wurde. Insgesamt heimste HBO 99 Nominierungen ein. Der Newcomer Netflix holt jedoch deutlich auf, mit insgesamt 31 Nominierungen, vor allem für die Serien "House of Cards" und "Orange Is the New Black".
